Mohs Micrographic Surgery Center of America was founded by Dr. Bernard Raskin, a board certified dermatologist, to help enhance community awareness of the Mohs micrographic procedure for the treatment of skin cancer. Dr. Raskin has performed this surgery on patients with skin cancer for over 20 years and is considered an expert in dermatology and cosmetic surgery.

Even though Mohs micrographic surgery has been performed on people suffering from skin cancer since the 1930s, it is not a procedure well known by the public. Consequently, many people suffering from skin cancer, who have received alternative types of treatment, may not have been aware of this procedure, which minimizes cosmetic damage to highly visible areas of the skin.

Dr. Raskin, an expert in Mohs and cosmetic surgery, is not only able to treat the skin cancer completely, but can follow up with laser procedures and/or products that reduce scarring. Such proper after-care lessens the emotional strain experienced by patients related to the loss of skin tissue in highly visible areas such as the ears, lips, eye lids and neck.
